Wynn Resorts (Macau), S.A. signed the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Charter yesterday, witnessed by the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL). The move strengthens the gaming operator’s commitment to promoting occupational safety.
The gaming operator also organized a roadshow in its back-of-house area to promote a positive health and safety culture and to increase team members’ awareness of OHS. The signing ceremony for the Charter took place in the Learning Room in the back-of-house area of Wynn Palace. Witnessed by Wong Chi Hong, director of DSAL, the charter was signed by Zuleika Mok, senior vice president of Human Resources of Wynn Macau Limited, alongside employee representatives of Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace.
Following the ceremony, a group of distinguished guests were led on a tour of the Wynn Facilities Academy, which opened in September of last year. Following the establishment of the Wynn Academy and the Food & Beverage Academy, the Wynn Facilities Academy was set up to “develop more local professionals who are interested in the field of facilities management through a comprehensive and standardized curriculum,” according to a press release issued by Wynn.
The Academy combines the curricula and technical certifications provided by DSAL, allowing trainees to accumulate relevant experience during a 24-month course. Following the principle of “First-Hire-Then-Train”, trainees are not only offered a job and an opportunity to learn a professional skill, but are also able to obtain a technical qualification through participation in the course. They can then develop a career by pursuing the various career opportunities provided by the company.
On the day of the signing ceremony, the OSH team and Employee Services department of Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace, together with DSAL, jointly organized a roadshow to promote OHS culture in the back-
of-house area. The roadshow communicated the importance of OHS to team members through entertaining booth games, and also included an OSH information panel display provided by DSAL. In addition, Wynn will organize four other roadshows in January that are expected to draw the participation of over 4,000 team members.
