Briefs | 70 percent of surveyed teachers feel under pressure

The General Union of the Neighborhood Associations (UGAMM) has released the results of a survey conducted during the months of May and June, which enquired about the pressures faced by local teachers. 70 percent of the 181 teachers surveyed from non-tertiary education and special education institutions claimed to be facing relatively high pressure. 139 voiced the opinion that reducing non-teaching work will help relieve their pressure. 112 noted that schools should have more human resources for teachers and 108 suggested that schools should increase teachers’ salaries. Over 93 percent have dealt with negative emotions in the past three months according to a report by All About Macau.

Free trade zone recruits seven SAR mediators

Seven mediators from Macau and Hong Kong have been recruited by a special mediation center, established last week in the China Pilot Free Trade Zone in the Nansha Area of Guangzhou. Along with these new mediators from the SARs, another 38 have also been hired by the center. The 45 individuals will work with 12 mediation groups to serve the trade zone’s court. The groups and mediators are expected to help the trade zone solve the growing commercial disputes in the area, according to a report by Nan Fang Daily.
