CE delivers Policy Address on Monday

Chief Executive Chui Sai On will deliver his 2015 Policy Address on Monday at the Legislative Assembly (AL). Flyers providing information on the government’s main policies and measures for this year will be mailed out to the Macau population, the Chief Executive’s Office said in a statement. Pamphlets with 2015 Policy Address information will also be available at public libraries and several other public facilities in the city, including the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Social Welfare Bureau. On Tuesday, Mr Chui will return to the Legislative Assembly to answer lawmakers’ queries on the Policy Address.

GAES opens call for Cambridge training program

The Tertiary Education Services Office (GAES) is accepting applications for a training program for local university teachers, taking place this August at the University of Cambridge in the UK. 20 vacancies are available within the program, which targets professors and researchers of local higher education institutions. In a recent statement, GAES said that it is launching a training program at the renowned University of Cambridge for the first time, and welcomes applications from all professors who meet the requirements.  Applicants should be Macau ID holders working full-time as professors or researchers in local higher education institutions. They should have at least three years of teaching or research experience, and should hold a master’s degree or a higher qualification. Furthermore, all interested applicants must submit a letter of recommendation issued by their local higher education institution. GAES will select 20 candidates to attend the training program, which kicks off on August 1. Further information can be found on the GAES website (www.gaes.gov.mo).

Fourth Macau Literary Festival kicks off

The 4th edition of “The Script Road – Macau Literary Festival” kicked off yesterday with a ceremony held at the Old Court building. The festival will run from March 19 to 29. According to a press release issued by the organizers yesterday, the festival will attract more than 30 writers, publishers, translators, journalists, musicians, film-makers and visual artists to the city.
