COOPERATION | Forum implements first course outside Macau

The “Colloquium for the Conception and Management of Community Cooperatives in the Portuguese-Speaking Countries” is now underway in Portugal. There are 25 participants in total, all of whom are chiefs or technicians of public services, originating from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and East Timor.
The event focuses on themes chosen by representatives of lusophone countries, based on the advantages to be found in Macau for each of the aforementioned countries. It is the first time that the Centre for Training at the Forum (Macau), is implementing a course in one of the member countries of the Forum.
The Colloquium was organized by the Forum Macau in partnership with the University of Saint Joseph, in collaboration with the Catholic University of Portugal. It takes place from July 6 to July 20 in Portugal.
During the opening ceremony, the deputy secretary general of the permanent secretariat from the Forum, Rita Santos, emphasized that the colloquium aims to solidify plans for the Forum Macau’s cooperation in terms of development in education and human resources. It also seeks to reinforce the role of Macau as a promotional exchange and as a service platform for China and the Portuguese-Speaking countries.
The participants of the colloquium will visit various sites, including the Alqueva Dam, which is considered the biggest potential zone for agriculture in Portugal. They will also meet with representatives from the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP) and from the Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (IAPMEI).
