Banco Nacional Ultramarino (BNU) donated MOP1.6 million to Tung Sin Tong charity yesterday in a ceremony chaired by Chui Sai Cheong, president of Tung Sin Tong, and Pedro Cardoso, chief executive officer of BNU.
Established in 1892, Tung Sin Tong has been a leading charity organization in Macau, providing free medical services and education for citizens in need.
In order to collect more funds for charity, BNU and Tung Sin Tong launched the Tung Sin Tong Visa credit card in 1999 and the Tung Sin Tong Visa platinum credit card in 2012. Not only is the annual fee free for the Tung Sin Tong Visa card, but cardholders will be helping out those in need as BNU will donate 1 percent of consumers’ retail spending of this card to the charity.
Since the inception of this donation scheme, BNU has contributed some MOP13.7 million to Tung Sin Tong.
