P001Galaxy Macau Phase 2 and Broadway Macau has doubled its size to 1.1 million square meters and opened its doors on 27th May. The new leisure facilities and the new business model of cooperating with small-and medium-sized enterprises (“SMEs”) have attracted more than 40 local and overseas professionals and associations for tour visits.
A few months before the grand opening, GEG had already received requests for group visits to the new integrated resort. Therefore, GEG arranged tour visits for various professionals and associations at the beginning of May and received their feedback. More than 40 groups of professionals including engineering, commercial enterprises, security, fire safety, arts, culture, hotel and design, who came from Macau, Hong Kong, the mainland, England, America, Korea, Malaysia, etc. visited the properties in May and June.
Aside from professionals, students and teenagers from various associations, including Global Entrepreneurial Youth Conference of UMAC, students from the “CTM Youth Development Programme”, China Youth Entrepreneurs Association, students from Faculty of Tourism, South Korea Tongwon University and Temerlin Advertising Institute, also visited the properties.

P001-2melco announces finalists for zaha hadid design competition

Melco Crown Entertainment yesterday announced the five finalists of the Dare to Dream – Zaha Hadid Design Competition; the winner will be announced in July. Collaborating with the Tertiary Education Services Office, the competition offers a local Macau student of architecture the opportunity to do an internship at the London headquarters of the world-renowned Zaha Hadid Architects. The competition is part of Melco Crown Entertainment’s Dare to Dream series launched in 2012, with the primary aim of encouraging interests in the creative and arts field.
The Zaha Hadid Design Competition was first announced in 2014, it challenged Macau students who are studying locally or abroad to design a villa set in a landscape. Their designs are judged on creativity and practicality of the concept, the contestants’ understanding of 3D printing technology and their ability to handle complications. The judging panel comprised of Dame Zaha Hadid, Founder of Zaha Hadid Architects, Mr. Michele Pasca di Magliano, Senior Associate of Zaha Hadid Architects; Mr. Carlos Marreiros, President of the Fellow Members Council, the Architects Association of Macau; Mr. Helder Santos, Chairman of Supervising Committee, Macau Urban Planning Institute; and Mr. David Clarke, Vice President of Design, Melco Crown Entertainment. Among the outstanding designs received, five contestants – Jeff Lei, Ives Ma, Stephanie Choi, Rui Chen and Ka-hou Wu – impressed the judges with their distinctive concepts and were named finalists.
