The University of Macau (UM) recently held its Principals’ Recommended Admission Talk 2015/2016 to promote its educational mission, academic programs, exchange opportunities, and career prospects to prospective students.
According to a press release issued by UM, the event attracted about 500 secondary students approaching graduation, along with their parents and teachers. Representatives from all faculties and colleges attended the admissions talk to provide information about UM’s academic programs and to answer the students’ questions.
The talk was presented by UM Vice Rector (Students Affairs) Prof Haydn Chen. He told participants about the university’s recent achievements in various areas and mentioned that UM adopted the residential college system in the 2014/2015 academic year to facilitate community and peer education.
During the event, students visited the teaching facilities and laboratories located in the faculty buildings and tried some of the specialized facilities, including the Simultaneous Interpretation Laboratory, the Black-Box Theatre, and the Moot Court. They were also given the opportunity to operate lab equipment under expert guidance.
