The Galaxy International Convention Center will welcome the return of Hong Kong Cantopop diva Kelly Chen Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 with two newly organized concerts at the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena. Themed around her unreleased song, Season 2, the concert shall encapsulate her 27 years in show business into 2.5 hours, presented through several sections featuring her resounding ballads and dance melodies. At the show announcement yesterday, the performer underlined that Season 2 signals a restart from the past three years. She is now working closely with her producer, musician Mark Lui, to rearrange some of her most-loved songs for a fresher take for this concert. Boasting a famed repertoire of Cantonese and Mandarin hits, Chen said the rundown will see a ratio of 60:40. Nearly five years since she last visited Macau, the singer said she misses most the sumptuous food of the city. Public box office for the shows will open at noon on Aug. 17 at cityline.com. Prices range from MOP380 to MOP1,380.
