HK Express aims to double flights to mainland China

HK Express, a subsidiary of Cathay Pacific Airways, plans to double its flight operations to mainland China within the next two years and expand its fleet and destination coverage significantly. CEO Jeanette Mao anticipates a 20-30% capacity increase by the year’s end, aiming for 170% of pre-pandemic levels. The airline, which turned profitable last year, intends to grow its fleet from 35 to 60 by 2028 and increase its destinations from 24 to 30 by the end of 2024. This ambitious expansion underlines HK Express’s commitment to enhancing its presence in the Asian aviation market, focusing on short-haul flights amidst a recovering travel industry.
