HKZMB records new high in passenger traffic

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge recorded some 100,000 passengers entering and exiting during the weekend, hitting a record high in three years.

According to state media CCTV, routes from Zhuhai to Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and then from Hong Kong to Macau via the bridge are booming, receiving an average of 2,000-3,000 mainland tourists every day.

In addition, driven by the policy of “Macau Cars Going Northward” tourists have increased significantly, and the increase in Macau single-plate vehicles entering Guangdong is particularly obvious.

The border checkpoint of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge inspected more than 3,000 Macau single-plate vehicles on Sunday, the highest number since the implementation of the policy.

As of Sunday, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge border inspection station has inspected and let through more than 1.78 million people, a year-on-year increase of 2.3 times. The number of vehicles entering and exiting exceeded 466,000, a year-on-year increase of nearly 49%.
