Hong Kong, Guangxi ink cooperation deals worth $6.8 billion

Hong Kong and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have signed 38 cooperation agreements worth $6.8 billion. The agreements, covering finance, city development, culture, tourism, transportation, and trade, focus mainly on innovation, technology, and electronics. Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee emphasized leveraging Hong Kong’s expertise in logistics and high-end business services to support Guangxi’s development. Guangxi Party Secretary Liu Ning highlighted the region’s integration into the Greater Bay Area’s supply and industrial chains. The partnerships are set to enhance economic ties, with Hong Kong being a crucial gateway to global markets and Guangxi serving as a key supplier and gateway to Southeast Asia.
