Tourism officials say the 10-day International Cities of Gastronomy Carnival met its visitor goal on its last day. Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes told AP the event drew an estimated 100,000 people. She said most food stalls at the festival’s Food Avenue were “hot sellers.” The event featured food forums, demonstrations by 26 culinary capitals and collaborations between hotels and chefs. Senna Fernandes hoped participants got to know Macau better through community tours showcasing each area’s culture. She said future festivals could introduce more food and discover cooperation opportunities within Macau’s diverse communities.
