Inbound package tour visitors to Macau reached 213,000 in November, marking a 5.2% increase year-on-year, according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). Notably, visitors from mainland China rose by 2.1% to 189,000, while international arrivals surged by 36.3% to 20,000, with significant increases from the Republic of Korea and India
The average occupancy rate for hotel guest rooms also saw a positive trend, climbing 6.6 percentage points year-on-year to 89.7%. Despite this, the total number of guests in hotel establishments fell by 2.5% to 1,174,000, although their average length of stay increased slightly to 1.7 nights.
In the first eleven months of 2024, inbound package tour visitors totaled 1,908,000, up 70.9% from the previous year. This growth was driven by a 63.4% increase in visitors from mainland China and a remarkable 179.4% rise in international tourists
Additionally, Macau residents purchasing outbound services through travel agencies rose by 27.7%, with those traveling on package tours increasing by an impressive 113.9% Staff Reporter
