Internet usage and e-services on the rise

Government data shows that 97.7% of households had internet access in 2024, a slight increase from the previous year. According to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), the number of internet users rose to 610,300, with over 90% using it daily. Notably, internet penetration among those aged 65 and above increased to 81.3%. “Communication and social media” remained the most common online activities, while online shopping grew by 3.3%, driven by purchases of takeout food and clothing. Online government service usage saw significant growth.
