Wang Zhi Min, head of the Central Government Liaison Office in Macau, commented on Li Keqiang’s visit to Macau this week. “The Premier’s visit to Macau is another big event for Macau’s society, politics and life, following after President Xi Jinping’s visit to Macau during the 15th anniversary of Macau’s handover to the motherland,” he said.
Wang believes that Macau will train more talented people who will in turn perpetuate the core value of “Love the Country, Love Macau.” Li Keqiang, while visiting a local school, encouraged local students to become “patriotic and responsible,” as well as to become accomplished people who can build “a great motherland and a beautiful Macau.” To Wang, Li’s words correspond to the great expectations and hopes of the Premier towards Macau.
Wang believes that Macau will develop well by enhancing the One Country, Two Systems policies.
The Liaison Office head concluded by saying the meaning of Li’s visit was fourfold: talking about Macau stories, planning Macau’s development, carrying forward the Macau spirit, and, finally, looking towards the future of the SAR.
Wang noted that Li Keqiang’s trip “was intense, rich, close to the people, pragmatic, a complete success, and left an unforgettable beautiful impression of our Macau compatriots.”
