Melco launches recruitment for Studio City resort

P02_Studio City Career FairCasino operator Melco Crown Entertainment has begun recruitment for Studio City, its new casino and entertainment resort. The company will offer up to 10,000 job opportunities, thousands of which have been allocated to local residents.
A careers fair was launched for Macau ID holders on Monday and will run untill Thursday. The fair is being hosted at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, where a ballroom has been decorated with a setting that corresponds to Studio City’s cinematic theme.
Upon entry, candidates are greeted by neon signs that read, “The Audition: Are You In?” posters at the fair advertising the company’s employee loyalty program, which  grants an additional month’s salary to new non-
management employees who join before August, and another five-month salary to be received in 2018.
According to Melco Crown’s Co-Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho, the company has offered 16,860 internal transfers and promotions to its staff over the past six years.
“This is not by chance, but the result of an active policy of internal development, and is very much a part of the supportive culture of the company,” he stressed in a press release. “At Melco Crown Entertainment, we believe that developing our people is creating a future for the company.”
Last year, Melco’s in-house learning academy trained over 10,000 employees. According to the press release, it has also launched a “Back to School Program” that offers employees a chance to complete their high school diploma. BY
