MGM Cotai recently hosted over 220 guests from Thailand for an “Amazing Songkran in Macau” dinner to celebrate the traditional Thai New Year festival of Songkran.
The dinner, held at Vista of MGM Cotai, surpassed previous Songkran celebrations in scale, according to a statement issued by the gaming operator.
“MGM’s invitation to Thai tourists on the celebration of Songkran Festival in Macau is part of our strategic plan to tap into the Thai market and strengthen friendships between Macau and Thailand,” said Frederica Fok, senior vice president of global marketing for MGM.
Fok also revealed that in June, the company is going to join hands with the government in the upcoming roadshow in Bangkok and will also launch a series of promotion activities in Thailand.
The celebration featured traditional Thai boat noodles and Sino-Thai fusion dishes prepared by MGM, as well as festive Thai decorations, lucky draws, and a performance by Thai R&B singer Lydia Sarunrat Deane.
