MGTO launches free bus, ferry tickets to Macau via HK

Tourists can claim free, one-way bus or ferry tickets from Hong Kong to Macau, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has said in a statement. The scheme is based on a first-come, first-served basis, and is subject to availability.

The free bus discount lasts for seven months, until Aug. 31. Upon arrival at Hong Kong Airport, passengers can take the bus to Macau for free by presenting their boarding pass at the designated site. Passengers with boarding pass stubs, electronic tickets or transportation tickets arriving in Hong Kong within seven days before coming to Macau can use their tickets to secure their free ferry tickets to Macau.

Meanwhile, the MGTO also launched travel offers that encourage international cruise visitors to join group tours to Macau during their stopover in Hong Kong, as cruises dock at the Hong Kong Cruise Terminal.

The offer is set to expand the range of international visitations, boost tourism to both cities, and tourist spending in Macau, as cited in a statement issued by the MGTO.

During their cruise stopover in Hong Kong, international cruise visitors can join group tours to Macau, to sightsee and shop.

Macau group tour packages are now on sale, on offer from 12 international cruise lines. Before or during their cruise, or upon arrival at the terminal in Hong Kong, passengers can enquire about or purchase Macau tour products on the cruise lines’ websites, as well as at tour counters on board their ship, to sign up for group tours to Macau.

The itineraries include visits to the World Heritage Site “The Historic Centre of Macao,” Macao Museum, Macau Tower and integrated resorts. Staff reporter
