The Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) is promoting Macau as a destination for business travel in this year’s session of the Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia (IT & CMA 2014) taking place in Bangkok, Thailand.
MGTO is running a booth at the three-day event under the theme “Touching Moments, Experience Macau.” In a statement, MGTO declared that forty delegates have already traveled to Thailand, representing 30 local enterprises in order to promote Macau’s convention and exhibition industry, while also presenting the destination’s latest business tourism products and facilities to their Asian counterparts. Participating representatives come from businesses including hotels, resorts, convention and exhibition companies, as well as travel agencies, entertainment enterprises, airlines, and ferry operators.
MGTO said it has also taken the opportunity to promote its “Incentive Travel Stimulation Program,” which incentivises groups to stay in Macau for more than two consecutive nights.
According to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), a total of 503 MICE events were held in Macau in the first half of 2014, with the number of attendees reaching 827,000. The event, in Thailand, began yesterday and ends tomorrow.
