The results of a heavy sands prospecting program in Jangamo, Mozambique, are “excellent” and revealed quality surface mineralization’s, British company Savannah Resources said in a statement Thursday.
The company said that 96 holes drilled as part of the program, beyond the surface mineralization, excellent strike lengths, and that an estimate of existing resources would be announced later this year.
The Jangamo concession covers an area of 180 square kilometers and has ilmenite , zircon and rutile deposits.
The company’s CEO, David Archer, said he was “delighted” with the results of the program and announced that more holes would be drilled in four areas identified in the eastern part of the concession, where mineral concentrations are expected to be very high. In two of those areas the heavy mineral sands “start at surface,” Archer said. MDT/Macauhub
