Data from Hengqin’s tax bureau shows that more than 900 Macau residents work in the region and enjoy the preferential personal income tax policies that are available to them.
Data from the region’s 2023 personal income tax final settlement shows a year-on-year increase of approximately 80%. In 2024, the tax revenue generated by Macau-funded enterprises engaged in technological research and development and high-end manufacturing in the Cooperation Zone will account for 76% of the total tax revenue generated by Macau-funded enterprises.
