Pearl Horizon pre-sale buyers are staging a protest that will last for 15 consecutive days, the Radio Macau Chinese channel reported.
According to the same report, the protest will be held in front of the Tai Fung Bank branch in Areia Preta and is related to claims of financial loss suffered by the buyers due to mortgage repayments for the residential units that were never built.
Buyers also expressed concern over the development’s future as it is currently under legal dispute with the government, which is trying to reclaim the land plot on the basis of its concession expiring back in December 2015.
With the demonstration, the small owners hope to pressure their respective banking institutions to suspend mortgage repayments until a final solution to the case is reached in the courts.
