A power supply interruption occurred in Areia Preta and Iao Hon districts yesterday at 12.58 p.m. According to a press release issued by CEM, the incident was due to an underground cable failure. It affected 35 buildings and 4,200 households. CEM stressed that the company immediately implemented remote operations to restore power, and supply was resumed within four minutes at 1.02 p.m. The Border Gate Frontier Post was affected by the power outage. However, according to CEM, since back-up power supply equipment was instantly activated in the building, services at the Post were not affected. CEM apologized for any inconvenience that was caused to citizens and customers. The company stated that it “always attaches great importance to the quality of power supply, and promises to strive to improve the infrastructure [in order] to provide reliable and secure electricity services.”
Motorcyclist’s hand crushed in traffic accident
A motorcyclist’s hand has been crushed after colliding with a New Era bus in Taipa. The driver fell from his motorbike into the left lane, at which point a vehicle came from behind and ran over his palm. It was reported that the driver of the motorcycle was in a critical condition. The accident occurred near the Galaxy resort in Cotai.
