Special traffic measures enforced for ‘Parade through Macao’

Authorities will be enforcing special traffic measures this Sunday while the “Parade through Macao, Latin City” takes place. Traffic will be limited along the parade’s route.
The Parade opening ceremony will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Saint Paul’s ruins, before continuing to proceed to Rua de S. Paulo, Largo de Santo Antonio, towards the São Lazaro neighborhood, and culminating in the Tap Seac Square at around 7:30 p.m. The Parade’s general rehearsal will take place tomorrow between 9:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
Authorities released in a statement that members of the public who wish to attend the Parade’s opening ceremony at Saint Paul’s Ruins should arrive at the designated area at Calçada de S. Paulo and Rua de S. Paulo. As of 1:30 p.m., Rua de S. Paulo will be under crowd control, while the entries and exits of Calçada de S. Paulo and Rua de S. Paulo will close at 2:30 p.m. After the audience area is full, no more entrants will be allowed in.
As of 4:00 p.m., some of Tap Seac’s areas will be under restricted access.
Between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, traffic will be limited along the parade route. On Sunday, temporary closures will be in force on Rua de S. Paulo, Rua de S. Antonio, and Largo de S. Antonio, among other streets. Vehicles parked in these streets will not be allowed to move. The Parade is held annually to commemorate the anniversary of Macau’s handover to China.
