The International Institute of Macau, with the support of the Macau Foundation, has published a book titled “Making Impressions: a Portuguese family in Macau and Hong Kong, 1700 to 1945”. The launch of the book took place yesterday at the auditorium of the Consulate-General of Portugal, with the tome’s author, Dr Stuart Braga, attending the event.
The book is based on Dr Braga’s doctoral thesis at the Australian National University, and is the historical account of the Rosa and Braga families, who settled in Macau and Hong Kong. According the author, the book helps people understand the “remarkable journey” of Macau people through history.
Their descendants, including the first Portuguese in the Hong Kong Legislative Council, Jose Pedro Braga, and the historian Jack Braga, participated in the establishment of the British colony of Hong Kong.

I refer to the book of Stuart Braga…we are talking about Macanese people….and why should we go up and start with the Portuguese in HK? Why cant you publish a book that accounts for really MACAU’S PEOPLE…there is a book which thoroughly chronicles about MACAU’S PEOPLE at its best.
Please publish MACAU’S PEOPLE..and there’s so much of it.
Thank you…
Filomena.
