In reply, Chui thanked the central government for believing in him and appointing him as the fourth CE. He said that the MSAR will keep the development of the economy and improving the livelihood of residents as a priority.
“Especially when it comes to the development of the economy, we put great emphasis on fostering talents and the sustainable development of a diversified economy. Eventually, we want Macau to achieve long-term prosperity and stability, as well as a comfortable life for all residents”, he stated.
The CE also reported to the president that the University of Macau has moved into Hengqin and is on the path to becoming a first-class world university.
Before meeting Xi, Chui Sai On met the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and received his appointment decree from him.

Chui said that the government will listen to opinions more and put the public’s demand as a priority of the government.
