General Images Of Casinos In MacauThe immigration authorities have recorded that 1.58 million people crossed the border to enter or exit Macau during the Mid-Autumn Festival period between September 6 and 9. The figure is 1.93 percent higher than for the same period last year.
On the first day, there were already 437,002 people crossing the borders.
Among the 1.5 million people in total, around 500,000 of them were tourists.
Two-thirds of the travellers, more than 1.18 million of them, chose to use the Border Gate checkpoint.
The other two popular checkpoints for residents and visitors were the ones at the Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal and the Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal, and a total of more than 277,000 people entered or exited Macau through these checkpoints during the four-day period.
The Macau International Airport was also another hotspot. The checkpoint there recorded 22,945 people entering and 27,368 people exiting the city through it.
