3Macau announces 4G LTE coverage expansion
Local telecommunications operator, Hutchison Telephone (Macau) Company Limited (3Macau) announced yesterday that its 4G LTE network now covers more than 95 percent of all outdoor areas in Macau. 3Macau also revealed they will be increasing their 4G data entitlement for all 4G customers from 15 to 57 percent.
The network has also unveiled the new “3G Macau – Hong Kong Unlimited Data Plan,” enabling customers to use unlimited roaming data usage while in Hong Kong. The roaming service has also been extended to cover tourism hotspots in a total of 25 countries.
In a media luncheon organized by 3Macau, CEO Ho Wai-ming claimed that 3Macau’s 4G subscribers have been increasing and the company is continuing to work on improving the 4G indoor coverage area.
“We have been dedicated to enhancing the mobile communications experience we offer our customers. Market response to our 4G LTE service launch last December gives rise to optimism, and the number of 4G subscribers has increased,” he said.

MANY PEOLE OBSERVED SINCE THE LAUNCHING OF 4G, THE 3G THAT WERE BEING SUBSCRIBED IS VERY SLOW BEHIND SPEED AS PROMISED IN THE PLAN, LIKEWISE THE OPTIC FIBER BEING INSTALLED BY CTM IS POOR, HOPE THE GOVT WILL ACT TO INVESTIGATE OF THESE OBSERVATIONS
