Sands China Ltd. recently held a career development briefing session in Wuhan, targeted at local residents who attend university in Hubei province’s capital city.
According to a statement issued by the gaming operator, the two-day session assisted students in exploring the range of career opportunities available to them in Macau after they graduate.
Students at the briefing session learned more about the macroeconomic conditions of the SAR, its integrated tourism and leisure industry, and Sands China’s corporate culture.
The session attracted students from Wuhan University and the Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Wen Hongyan, Sands China’s senior vice president of human resources, said: “A career development briefing session like this helps deepen students’ understanding of Macau’s development prospects, employment opportunities and our company.”
“We hope this event can help attract Macau students studying abroad to return to work in Macau,” the executive added.
MGM gathers community partners to create art installation
MGM recently organized “Celebrating Macau SAR 20th Anniversary, joining hearts and hands for a greater community,” in which they invited several community partners to create an art installation.
The installation, titled “Together, we added colors to our community”, is an engraved wooden wall installation. It features iconic historical landmarks of Macau and is decorated with 150 hand-painted wooden letter boxes created by members of 20 local welfare organizations and MGM volunteers.
“This collaborative artwork celebrates love, passion and teamwork, and captures the city’s unique East-meet-West beauty. It represents a common thread connecting MGM with the community’s past, present and future,” the gaming operator noted in a statement.
During the ceremony, MGM also announced its joint programs with General Union of Neighbors’ Association of Macao (UGAMM), and Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office, in which they will provide assistance and support to the needy using suitable auxiliary tools and related daily necessities.
