Through its Responsible Gaming Ambassador advanced training program, Sands China is continuing its effort to raise employees’ responsible gaming awareness and skills.
The training program utilises both international and local knowledge, with Professor Bo J. Bernhard, executive director of the UNLV International Gaming Institute, sharing his academic insights and experience from the United States with team members in Macau.
Senior counsellors from the Sheng Kung Hui Gambling Counseling and Family Wellness Centre enhance employees’ responsible gaming knowledge and skills in areas such as crisis management and intervention.
The company currently has nearly 530 Responsible Gaming Ambassadors, the gaming operator noted in a statement.
The next round of training is scheduled for September 24-25.
“With this advanced Responsible Gaming Ambassador training, our team members can play a vital role in helping spot the signs of problem gambling,” said Winnie Wong, chief responsible gaming officer and vice president of special gaming projects.
Melco group attends belt and road forum
Melco Group’s chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho attended the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, China – a three-day event that attracted 5,000 representatives from 150 countries.
Ho attended the event with Melis Shiacolas, Managing Director of CNS Group; the parent company of The Cyprus Phassouri (Zakaki) Limited, which is a member of the Integrated Casino Resorts Cyprus Consortium.
According to a statement issued by the gaming operator, in Cyprus, this consortium led by Melco Group, is developing and will operate the City of Dreams Mediterranean integrated resort as well as the four Cyprus Casinos “C2” satellite casinos.
“We look forward to continuing our pace-setting commitment to build sustainably and develop integrated resorts with local partners in Macau and beyond,” said Ho.
Located in western Limassol, City of Dreams Mediterranean is expected to open in 2021 according to the current timetable, and is set to become Europe’s largest integrated resort.
