The Chief Executive has decided to extend the city’s ban on foreign entries, with the announcement of an Executive Order to that effect taking place yesterday.
According to Executive Order No. 64/2022, published yesterday, existing entry measures remain unchanged for foreigners. However, the order increases the type of situations under which a non-Macau resident can be exempted from compliance with existing entry measures, and authorised to enter the Macau SAR.
Residents of Greater China Region who have not travelled to any place outside the Region in the 14 days prior to their intended arrival in Macau will be granted entry to the city, provided that such people fulfil all relevant requirements set by the local health authorities.
The Executive Order also consolidated several such Orders previously in effect. No termination date to the measures was announced in yesterday’s document released by the government.
Since an earlier phase of the current Covid-19 pandemic, the city’s government has barred residents of jurisdictions outside of the Greater China region from entering Macau.
