Individuals who have had Covid-19 abroad and intend to travel to Macau within two months of their infection will no longer need to present proof of negative antigen tests or nucleic acid tests (NAT) carried out at 24-hour intervals in the past 14 days.
Back in April, the government announced that individuals who have had Covid-19 within two months may only board a civil aircraft to Macau at least 14 days after having three consecutive negative rapid antigen tests or NATs. However, in the recent announcement, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Center said that those who were infected with Covid-19 and have obtained a negative NAT after seven days of infection “are not highly contagious.”
The new measure came into force yesterday.
Individuals are still required to present a negative NAT taken within 72 hours prior arrival and proof that they have been vaccinated with a booster shot. Staff Reporter
