Briefs | Fourth industrial accident this April leaves one dead

Yesterday afternoon, the city saw its fourth fatal industrial accident to occur in the month of April. A male worker who did not take necessary safety measures fell to his death from a scaffolding structure in the northern district at around 3.40 p.m. The death was reported to local police by a colleague who worked with the 47-year-old on a construction project. He heard the man shouting behind him and saw the man lying in blood on the pavement. He was pronounced dead while being rushed to the hospital.

Fingerless body discovered in Coloane

A male body has been found floating in the sea near a temple in Coloane, according to the police authorities. At around 8.40 a.m. yesterday, a local female citizen discovered the body of a deceased man, approximately 30 years old, when she was walking past the temple, and called the police immediately. The initial inquiry carried out suggested that the man’s topless body, wearing a gold necklace and with his index finger long removed, had been floating in the sea for an extended time. The man’s identity remains unknown.
