Hsin Chong Construction Company (HCC) has been appointed as the construction manager for the Thai Boon Roong Twin Tower World Trade Center Project in Cambodia by the project’s co-developers, Ng Lap Seng’s Sun Kian Ip Group and the Thai Boon Roong Group.
Located on the bank of the Mekong River in the country’s capital city, Phnom Penh, the Twin Tower will reach 500 meters (133 stories) into the sky when completed, making it Cambodia’s tallest building as well as one of the tallest in the world.
Paul Lee, managing director of HCC, and Augustine Tang, director of HCC, signed the contract at a ceremony held last week in Phnom Penh.
“We are honored to be chosen to deliver this landmark project for Cambodia, which has been earmarked as an important commercial and residential facility,” said Paul Lee. “We will be applying the strengths and experience we have in constructing large-scale integrated projects in Hong Kong and Macau to provide the best solutions and a high-quality product for our client.”
HCC has been involved in various works in Cotai and at other sites in Macau. The company was awarded a major contact for the Phase II construction of Galaxy Macau, and was also a main contractor for the campus development at the University of Saint Joseph.
As the project’s construction manager, HCC will be responsible for coordinating and supervising contractors, program control, commercial advice, monitoring safety and quality control, managing site logistics, as well as coordinating with consultants and the local authorities.
The project will also include four residential buildings, an 11-storey podium structure with three basement levels, and another three basement levels under the existing Hun Sen Plaza in front of the Twin Towers.
In addition, the Thai Boon Roong Twin Tower World Trade Center Project, which will span a total land area of over 86,000 square meters, will accommodate a wide range of facilities such as serviced apartments, offices, a shopping mall, an exhibition hall, a cinema, and restaurants. DB
