Freeman: What works for Vegas may not work here

President and CEO of the American Gaming Association, Geoff Freeman, cautioned that “what works for Vegas may not be exactly what works here [in Macau],” in an interview recently published by Calvin Ayre, a gaming news website. Freeman indicated that even if Vegas’ success cannot be replicated in the MSAR, the city can still benefit from a growing non-gaming tourism sector, which will be driven by the gaming operators. “Non-gaming is not as big here [in Macau], in terms of the percentage of the revenue, as it might be in Las Vegas or in other markets, but it’s still bigger in total than any other market in the world,” he told Calvin Ayre.
