The Identification Services Bureau (DSI) has expanded the utility of its integrated self-service kiosks by adding options for “Contact Information Modification” and “Enrollment for using the HK e-Channel.”
In addition to the existing functions at the DSI self-service kiosks, local residents can now modify their address and contact number information and also enroll in advance to use the Automated Passenger Clearance System (e-Channel) in Hong Kong via the kiosks.
DSI said in a statement yesterday that the process of modifying contact information is simple, as electronic MSAR Resident Identity Card holders who are aged 18 or above are only required to insert their electronic identity card into the kiosks and verify their fingerprints. Users can then access and modify their current address and contact number information at the kiosks.
Applicants can also lodge an application to modify their contact information in person at the DSI or through the “DSI Service Station” mobile application.
In addition, permanent residents who are aged 18 or above can voluntarily enroll in advance to use the Hong Kong e-Channel. Upon successful enrollment, they will be able to enter and exit Hong Kong using their valid electronic Permanent Resident Identity Card.
Currently, integrated self-service kiosks have been installed in 36 locations throughout the region. The kiosks provide 20 different services from eight government departments.
