THE BUZZ: Students refuse to take UM’s special offer

Two high school graduates from Jiangxi province in the mainland have been the focus of public attention since they helped to subdue an attacker on a bus. Both failed to attend the National College Entrance Examination. The University of Macau (UM) made an exceptional offer to both of them earlier. However, the two students turned down the offers and both chose universities in the mainland instead. One of the students reasoned that he’s not doing well in English, and the daily costs in Macau are too high for his family to bear.
