Clube Militar to hold ‘Lusophone Painters Exhibition’

Clube Militar de Macau will hold a Lusophone Painters Exhibition from October 18 to November 5.

The exhibition aims to help deepen cultural relations between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries, according to a statement by Clube Militar.

Nine contemporary plastic artists from the Portuguese-speaking countries – including Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau and Macau – will each produce 27 original works that illustrate a wide range of styles and themes. These works are designed to underline the diversity and creativity of the Portuguese-speaking visual arts community.

The exhibition is part of the annual “Pontes de Encontro” program, an initiative of the Military Club. Its pilot program featured a Portuguese painting exhibition.

“By its very nature, this exhibition reveals multiple creative approaches and themes, bringing together artists of different sensibilities and techniques,” the statement said.

This program is supported by the Macao Foundation, the Macau Gaming Society, Sam Lei Group and Commander Ng Fok.
