The Venetian Macao has been awarded a Macau Green Hotel Platinum Award, and is the first and only hotel in the SAR to earn the new top designation of platinum, which was introduced in the latest awards.
According to a statement issued by the gaming operator, the award criteria met by the integrated resort included showing evidence of year- on-year waste reduction, availability of electric vehicle parking spaces and charging stations for staff and guests, and the establishment of an eco-friendly mattress replacement program.
The group also monitored the environmental performance of shuttle buses, establishing a management plan for reducing food waste, and carrying out regular carbon audits to identify areas for improvement.
The Parisian Macao received its first award in the Gold category, as did the Four Seasons Hotel Macao, Cotai Strip.
Five other hotels at Sands China properties maintain Gold designations from previous years’ awards: Sands Macao; The St. Regis Macao, Cotai Central; Conrad Macao, Cotai Central; Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel, Cotai Central; and Holiday Inn Macao Cotai Central.

Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD), BNU’s parent company, and BNU recently signed a cooperation protocol, marking a more comprehensive cooperation between the two banks.
Via the global network of CGD and BNU, a platform of information and communication channels will be created to share market information on China and the Portuguese Speaking Countries. The platform will promote cross-referrals of individual, corporate and financial and institutional businesses, and also strengthen cooperation in settlement and credit-related business.
Both parties agree that a closer business relationship will support the SAR in the creation of a cooperative platform for trades and businesses between China and Portuguese speaking countries.
The protocol was signed by CEO of CGD, Paulo Macedo, president and vice-president of the Board of BNU, José João Guilherme and Carlos Cid Álvares.
The signing occurred during a business delegation organized by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, which included BNU.
