The ceremony included spectacles such as a lion dance performance.
The “Parade Through Macau, Latin City” will take place on Sunday as a celebration of both the 16th anniversary of Macau’s handover to China, and the 10th year since the inscription of the Historic Centre of Macau on the World Heritage List.
This year’s parade features a “Treasure Hunt Adventure”, in which participants travel through three secret areas. Nearly 1,500 performers from more than 50 local and foreign groups will perform during the parade.
Two public seating areas will be located on both sides of Tap Seac Square to ensure that members of the public can view the performances in comfort.
The parade will be broadcast on TDM, Teledifusão de Macau S.A., and TDM HD from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday. A montage of the day’s highlights will be aired at 7pm on Dec. 15 on Hong Kong’s TVB Jade Channel.
The parade will also feature a giant balloon performance. In the interests of public safety, IC has forbidden unmanned aerial devices.
