All taxi recording devices ready before December 3

The Transport Bureau (DSAT) expects to finish the process of installing recording devices inside all taxis this year. Yesterday, during a TDM radio program, DSAT Director Lam Hin San said that the bureau expects to sign a contract with the device installation company after this Lunar New Year holiday. The DSAT will try to complete the installation before December 3, 2020. Lam also reported on infractions on app-based taxi services. In 2019, a total of over 110 complaints were recorded, of which three have already been escalated to follow-up procedures. Lam said that some of these cases are eligible to be punished while others are simply a misunderstanding.

LRT company denies bridge cracks accusation

The Macao Light Rapid Transit Corporation has denied an accusation that Macau’s Light Rapid Transit (LRT) bridge is suffering from cracks. The accusation appeared online in pictures. The LRT company clarified that the picture showed one section of the elevated road bridge of the railway system near the Lotus Frontier. This part of the bridge was built with an on-site concreting method. Having confirmed the matter with the construction inspection authority, the LRT company said that the picture shows the connection between the two concreting segments but as what was displayed was not a structural crack, there is no quality problem with the bridge.
