Association wants Guia Circuit to be UNESCO heritage

Continuing to commemorate its first anniversary, the Macau Guia Circuit for Promotion and Development Association (APDCGM) is displaying a range of art works showcasing several techniques presented at two local art exhibitions with the theme “Macau Guia Circuit to the World Heritage of UNESCO”.

The association aims to promote the rise of Macau’s racing street circuit as part of the territory’s heritage listed by UNESCO, and will host two exhibitions featuring more than 20 local artists. The presented works exemplify a variety of artistic media, including photography, painting, video, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture and installation art. The exhibition aims to increase awareness of the need to preserve the uniqueness of Guia’s street circuit in accordance with strict international standards, for the benefit of Macau residents and tourists.

The first exhibition that opened its doors on August 26 at the Ritz Building Gallery in Senado Square will be on display until September 14, making way for a second and larger exhibition that will be held at the Mount Fortress Corridor Gallery. This second gallery is situated on the eastern slope of the famous historic site and is connected to the Tap Seac Square and St Lazarus Parish by the pedestrian path of the Historic Center of Macau.

The second exhibition will open on September 16 at 6:15 p.m. and will be open for viewing until September 26.
At both exhibitions, visitors can observe works from well-known artists such as Konstantin Bessmertny, João Saldanha, Cristina Vinhas, Paulo Reis, Adriano Ma, Elisa Vilaça and Alice Yan, alongside many other reputable talents and association members such as José Luis Estorninho, Gonçalo Lobo Pinheiro, Renato Marques, Roy Chan, MJ Lee, Fanny Lai, and Derek Hoo. Admission to both exhibitions is free of charge.
