ATFPM welcomes Taiwan delegation ‘to promote relations between the two sides of the strait’

2-新闻-臺灣法務部公務人員協會拜访澳門公職人員協會-2The President of the Macau Civil Servants Association (ATFPM), José Pereira Coutinho, met last week with a delegation from the Association of Civil Servants of the Ministry of Justice of Taiwan at the ATFPM headquarters.
According to a press statement issued by the ATFPM, the purpose of the meeting was to promote contact and relations between the two associations. The meeting also provided an opportunity to promote ideas and exchange knowledge in order to improve the quality of the services offered by the ATFPM to its members and to Macau citizens in general.
Pereira Coutinho said, “During the meeting, our association found that there are many differences between the civil servants associations on both sides, including the methods for treating internal and external administrative affairs. Both associations profited from discussing several issues of mutual interest.” He added that “the associations have their own characteristics and advantages, and we can always learn from exchanges with other associations to help the development of the ATFPM.”
In the same statement, the ATFPM also announced that it will continue to invite delegations and visit other regions in order to learn from their experiences and improve its own services.
In mid-January, a local delegation of about 40 people representing several sectors, including trade, social and public services, was led by the president of the ATFPM on a visit to Taiwan at the invitation of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Macau.
During the three-day visit, the Macau delegation attended several events relating to the political campaigns for the presidential and legislative elections in the island.
On this occasion, the group also met with leaders of the two main parties and exchanged views with local officials.  RM
