Authorized economic operators drive China’s foreign trade

In 2023, Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs) accounted for 37.1% of China’s foreign trade value and a similar percentage of total tax payments, as revealed at the 6th World Customs Organization Global AEO Conference in Shenzhen. China boasts over 5,800 AEOs that benefit from streamlined customs procedures such as priority processing and reduced inspections, which enhance their international competitiveness. The conference, attended by over 1,200 delegates from various global regions, focused on leveraging AEO programs to promote sustainable and inclusive global trade. This conference is a biennial event, previously hosted by countries including the Republic of Korea and Spain.
