Macau Bats attended their 2nd rugby festival in Hong Kong last weekend. The club fielded seven teams across the various age groups and the teams acquitted themselves well.
Both U6 and U7 teams won all of their respective four games to get the club off to a flying start. The U8s also performed well with 3 wins and one narrow loss. Similarly, the U9s overcame an early defeat and delivered two wins. The U10s recorded a 100% win record from their four games and the U11s lost to Shatin Sha Pei before responding with two good wins against hosts Valley Fort and Hong Kong Football Club.
Meanwhile the U12s were playing in the Richard Hawkes tournament and gained promotion through three wins and one loss. It should give them confidence for a shot at the Cup in a fortnight’s time.
