BNU announced the launch of the redesigned MOP50 and MOP100 banknotes, which officially entered circulation yesterday.

Accredited as the first note-issuing bank in Macau in the early 20th century, the new bills are inspired by the city’s rich history and evolution. The artwork showcases a map of the SAR through different eras and generations.

Each note tells a story of the city’s transformation, reflecting Macau’s unique cultural heritage and historical significance.

With the introduction of the new MOP50 and MOP100 banknotes, BNU continues to commit to providing citizens with a modern, aesthetically pleasing currency that incorporates updated security features.

This launch follows the introduction of the new MOP10 and MOP20 bills, expanding the family of this series of banknotes.
