Wai Long public housing plan questioned

The president of the Architects Association of Macau, Wong Chung Yuen, criticized the government for having “answered too fast” when questioned by the public about the number of Wai Long public houses. In the government’s Policy Address, it is indicated that only 6,500 public house units will be available at the Wai Long public housing project, which is 1,500 short of the government’s previous promise. Wong said that the government was not careful in its calculations back then. In Wong’s opinion, there will also be a need for serious consideration concerning transportation once the project is done. During a press conference this week, the chief executive said that “after several works” it was concluded that only 6,500 units can be built.
