Briefs | New social service center to be completed in 2020 

The second phase of renovations to the social service building on R. da Praia do Manduco is expected to be finished in the second quarter of 2020. In its reply to lawmaker Ella Lei’s inquiry, the Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau revealed that the penalty procedure regarding the delay of the first phase of the project is still undergoing the judicial procedure. The second phase started construction at the end of 2017, with a construction period of 630 work days. So far, the project is being carried out according to the plan.

CEM to install 50 charging stations 

Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (CEM) expects that an additional 50 electric vehicle quick charging stations will become available this year, according to Chinese reports. Charles Leong, a senior technician of CEM Customers Services Department said that currently the company is operating 172 public electric vehicle charging stations. Before the end of January, CEM will install two charging stations in Taipa. According to Leong, for the past two years, CEM assisted approximately ten vehicle owners in installing charging stations in private buildings. The CEM staff said that the company will continue to search for suitable locations to install charging stations.
