Briefs | No damage to Ruins of St. Paul’s after drone crash

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said that no damage was found after a drone crashed into the Ruins of St. Paul’s on Thursday night. According to a statement, after the incident, IC staff made a “detailed inspection of the site, including photo comparison and data analysis through 3D scan.” The IC reported the case to the Civil Aviation Authority and pledged to link with the relevant authorities in order to decide if it is necessary to take measures regarding the use of drones in the vicinitiy of monuments. The police said that the person operating the drone was a 23-year-old male tourist from the mainland.

Vietnamese hold Tet celebrations

Overseas Vietnamese in the two special administrative regions of China gathered last weekend at celebrations of the Lunar New Year (Tet) organized by the country’s Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macau. Vietnamese Consul General Tran Thanh Huan attended the Macau celebration on Saturday and used the occasion to highlight his compatriots contributions to building their homeland into a more prosperous nation, according to Vietnam News. The Consul General also presented certificates of merit to individuals, honoring their efforts to develop the Vietnamese communities in the Hong Kong and Macau.
