The Buzz | HK Jockey Club CEO to speak at New York racing conference

The head of the Hong Kong Jockey Club will give the keynote address when the club’s North American counterpart gathers for its annual thoroughbred racing conference in Saratoga Springs.
The Manhattan-based Jockey Club says Hong Kong Jockey Club CEO Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges (BREZ’-gehz) will be the main speaker at today’s [Macau time] “Round Table Conference on Matters Pertaining to Racing.”
Others scheduled to speak include Jeff Novitzky, who investigated high-profile performance-enhancing drug cases in pro sports while working for the U.S. government. Novitzky is now an executive with Ultimate Fighting Championship. He’ll discuss some of his experiences in the anti-doping campaign.
The Jockey Club’s first round table conference was held in New York City in 1953. The following year, it moved to Saratoga Springs.
